The third installment in our video marketing blog series, today we’re providing tips on sharing videos via social media channels.  Numerous social networking sites allow you to display videos and encourage sharing among users within a newsfeed.

As Jon Spenceley points out in his article, “More Eyes on Your Video—How and Where to Share,” it’s important to keep a few things in mind when sharing your company’s videos in the social realm:

  • Length plays a big role. Because there is so much content that users sift through on a daily basis, it is difficult for anyone to endure long videos. Having short, straight-to-the-point video content will make it more likely that users will view and share your video with others.
  • Know your audience. Targeting your specific audience and displaying interesting content may compel them to view and share your videos more often, but the video should also be kept short and straight-to-the-point.
  • Have fun. Having content that is humorous, such as the example the article gives in posting a video that shows your office’s spirit for a current holiday, will be fun for people to see but will still maintain the purpose of creating brand awareness for your company.
  • Make them easily accessible. Your videos should be able to be played on multiple social streams so that your viewers can easily see them, although having your viewers leave one social page to another to see your videos will allow you to collect and analyze more data on the traffic.

It is now more beneficial than ever to embark on video content marketing. Keep in mind the unique goals of your marketing plans and then integrate your videos in your emails, various social streams and your blog to generate maximum viewership and engagement from them.
