Any family that has ever celebrated the birth of a child in a delivery room owes a debt to the pioneers at The Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center. Twenty-five years ago this year, this world-class facility opened its doors, becoming one of the first hospitals in the nation to offer suites where labor, delivery, recovery and post-partum care occurred all in one room, and where family members could all be together to share the magical moment of birth.

Putting mother, baby and the family at the center of the birthing process in a personalized environment, with state-of-the-art technology and clinicians available 24/7 for safety and convenience, was a new concept that quickly caught on with expectant parents in Southern Orange County. Specialists were available at all times in the hospital, on site whenever they may be needed. The region’s first on-site Level Three Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) meant that babies who needed special treatment could get that care right in the hospital where they were born, and no longer had to be transported elsewhere.

The vision of being “The Perfect Place to Have a Baby” that The Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Memorial created is now replicated in hospitals across the country. The hospital and staff were recognized on The Today Show for their innovation in educating patients about alternatives to c-sections. As more parents sought to become families through fertility, invitro and surrogate parenthood, the hospital and staff became experts in caring for multiple births and complex pregnancies. And the concierge-like services provided to new and expectant moms make delivering at The Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center an even more comforting and special experience.

Scott Public Relations helped the staff and families who’ve been patients at The Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Memorial Medical Center celebrate this momentous occasion with media coverage commemorating the heartwarming stories of the babies and their families who were born here, assisting with a museum-like exhibit depicting the major milestones of The Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Memorial from its conception to today, and collaborating on a very moving video produced by 336 Productions.

Congratulations to Saddleback Memorial and a shout-out to The Women’s Hospital at Saddleback Memorial in their anniversary year!
