With the third highest active viewers, at 400 million, and 925,000 new users each day, it’s time to pay more attention to Google+ and utilize the tools and benefits it has to offer.

Here are six key benefits that deserve our attention.

1. Creating a Google+ account will increase your SEO.

    • When people are searching with Google, it only makes sense that Google would pull information from its own network. This gets Google+ users’ information noticed. Also, if you have a blog and ask contributors to create a Google Authorship, their Google+ profile picture will show up next to their posts in the Google search. This adds a face to their name and will create more reads due to a stronger trust and credibility. Check out this

2. Unlike any other platform, Google+ allows you to use GIFs, which will engage your audience more than if you simply use pictures. Its layout is also very visual, which we all know helps users digest information.

3. Another unique feature of Google+ is its ability to create circles, allowing users to use different circles for their large range of connections, which keeps users organized and creates more relevant content.

4. Google+ is a small but mighty force. Although it doesn’t have the most users, the brands that are using Google+ are very active. These brands realize that Google+’s photo sharing abilities trump that of Facebook’s.

5. You don’t need to put all of your time and focus on Google+. Sharing your content on multiple social networking sites saves time and helps to increase views.  You don’t need to come up with new content, just simply continue doing what you’re doing and extend your reach.

6. Google+ is continually updating in order to create a better experience for its users. They now have a travelogue feature that creates an online scrapbook from your pictures and videos. You can also access Google Hangout through your Google+ account, allowing you to video chat with multiple users at the same time, for free (unlike Skype).

It may take time to regularly include it in your social media efforts, but in the end you will gain a stronger social media presence with greater SEO. Google+ is not a platform to be pushed to the side. It’s time to recognize its achievements.
