Today everyone makes and shares news. This is why creating and sharing content is so important. Simply having content on various platforms does not mean that people can find your content and read it. It’s essential to not only create content that people want to read, but to share, distribute and leverage the content in a way that makes sense for your company. In an article by Shawn Wood that appeared on the PRNewser/Adweek website, “The Top 5 Content Marketing Trends to Watch in 2015,” he describes several content marketing trends gaining prominence.

SPR has selected the top four content marketing trends that healthcare organizations should pay attention to this year:

  1. Recycling content has increased in popularity, as more businesses realize there are more than just the 261 workdays in the year. Rather than having a team for making content on the weekends and after-hours periods, re-work and re-purpose content that can be used again, saving both time and effort. Think of a few new ideas or touches to be added that allow the content to continue holding interest.
  2. Content marketing is becoming increasingly social, and the question has shifted from whether or not to use social media, to which platform you will be using. Striking a balance between a paid advertising campaign and satisfying the needs of organic searches has become essential to successful brand marketing for companies.
  3. Data is a crucial part of running both a business and PR campaigns, but the trick doesn’t lie in the amount of data gathered. Learning to accurately interpret data lets you analyze a campaign and come to a solid conclusion about its results and effectiveness in building your brand.
  4. The ability to reach people using mobile devices with your content has not diminished. With predictions that over 50 percent of web-users will turn to mobile devices and tablets first by 2018, there is every reason to optimize content and get your brand optimized on mobile platforms.
