Avi Dan, a Forbes contributor, outlines his predictions for marketing developments in “11 Marketing Trends To Watch For In 2015,” and below we share the trends that could affect the healthcare marketing world.

SPR’s healthcare marketing and PR professionals identified the following five trends to keep an eye on this year:

  • Agility marketing will define success or failure of organizations. Rather than considering the long term data, companies will focus on real-time marketing. Social media has created an elusive consumer with a shorter attention span, resulting in the need for faster adaptation and shorter lead times.
  • Internal communications will become increasingly important. Brands will begin to focus much more on internal communications in order to ensure that employees understand the brand as well as the vision and strategy of the company.
  • Transparency will become imperative. With consumers gaining more influence, it is important that brands utilize transparency as a tool to garner consumer support. Brands that succeed in the upcoming year will be those that demonstrate a real-time picture of what they are doing for the consumer.
  • Marketing technologists will be central to marketing operations. Brands must shift their thinking away from digital marketing and instead consider that they are marketing in a digital world. These marketing specialists will be integrated with marketing groups in order to influence how marketing strategies are implemented.
  • Marketing will shift to focus on personalization. Marketers will shift away from globalization and become much more individualized in the upcoming year. Consumers/healthcare audiences respond much more positively to personalized marketing strategies. Healthcare companies can target consumers by decentralizing and depending more on regional and local influence.
