With millions of Americans now receiving health insurance coverage through healthcare reform legislation, what’s next? Healthcare delivery reform, that’s what.

Our client, the Council of Accountable Physician Practices, is an influential leader in the next wave of transformation of our healthcare system. CAPP, an affiliate of the American Medical Group Foundation, is a distinguished group of integrated medical groups and health systems such as the The Permanente Federation, Mayo Clinic, Cleveland Clinic, Geisinger, and many others. Committed to achieving true coordinated care, 24/7 access, preventive care, integrated technology, physician-led healthcare organizations, and payment based on the ability to improve outcomes, CAPP is launching a major initiative to build the support and awareness to bring the benefits of true integrated care to all Americans.

This initiative is a multi-pronged communication and influencer campaign that kicks off November 4th, 2015, in Washington D.C.

CAPP and its co-sponsor, the Bipartisan Policy Center, will host an event to discuss the future of healthcare and the integration of technology in medical care management through the patient/physician relationship, entitled, “Better Together: High Tech and High Touch – The Patient-Physician Relationship in the New Millennium.” The event will take place on November 4, at 12:30 p.m. EST at The Center for Total Health, in Washington D.C.

The meeting will also mark the release of a Nielsen Strategic Health Perspectives survey on American’s use of technology for healthcare. The research investigates how patients are currently using technology for medical care, what technologies are most prevalent, what options Americans are most interested in, and the gaps that exist between reality and desired usage.

To talk about the findings and analyze the results, a group of healthcare thought leaders will come together, including:

  • Andy Slavitt, Acting Administrator, Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
  • Robert Pearl, MD, Chair, Council of Accountable Physician Practices; Executive director and CEO, The Permanente Medical Group; President and CEO, Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group
  • Janet Marchibroda, Director, Health Innovation Initiative, Bipartisan Policy Center
  • William Conway, MD, CEO, Henry Ford Medical Group
  • David Goldhill, Author, Catastrophic Care; President and CEO, GSN
  • Steven Green, MD, Chief Medical Officer, Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group
  • Brian Rank, MD, Co-Executive Medical Director, HealthPartners
  • Elisabeth Rosenthal, MD, Reporter, New York Times

The message will be further amplified by:

  • A press conference before the main event, with Robert Pearl, Janet Marchibroda, Jennifer Colamonico and Humphrey Taylor, from Nielsen, presenting survey findings and recommendations.
  • Public release of the survey data that morning.
  • Videos of real life patient stories that will be presented at the event, in the press conference, and released to the public, social media, and the media.
  • A live stream of the event available starting November 4 at 12:30 p.m. EST.
  • Social media sharing and engagement using the hashtag #BetterTogetherHealth.
  • Customized media and social media materials for CAPP’s medical groups and health systems across the U.S. to utilize with their own stakeholders to amplify the message and focus on the innovations introduced by these progressive medical groups that can impact all Americans.
  • A new website which is the forum for sharing information and viewpoints to move the needle on healthcare quality and access, https://accountablecaredoctors.org/.
  • The “Better Together” blog to showcase the perspectives of healthcare leaders and present new ideas in healthcare delivery for sharing and adoption.

Our congratulations to the CAPP team and CAPP’s medical groups and health systems for their vision and hard work in moving this very important agenda forward. Scott PR is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with you!
